Your credit record
and the Dinau Control Center

DCC is Papua New Guinea's credit bureau. This page explains what it holds about you, what we share with it, and the rights you have over your own record.

An independent credit bureau

The Dinau Control Center (DCC) keeps credit records for borrowers in Papua New Guinea. Lenders report the loans they give and how those loans are repaid, and DCC builds each borrower a single credit history from what every lender reports.

DCC is not part of LoanMasta. It is a separate organisation, and the record it holds about you follows you between lenders — not just with us.

That cuts both ways, and it is worth understanding which way it is cutting for you.

One record per person

Your history is joined up across lenders, so a good record with us helps you elsewhere too.

A credit score

DCC works out a score from your borrowing and repayment history across all reporting lenders.

Only with your consent

We check your record when you apply, and you agree to that as part of your application.

Shared responsibly

Lenders see what you owe and how you repay — not your bank balance or your spending.

What we share, and what we don't

You are entitled to know exactly what leaves our system. Here it is, in plain terms.

What we do share

  • Your name, date of birth and ID number, so your record is matched to you and not someone else
  • The loans you hold with us — the amount, the repayment and the term
  • Whether repayments are being made on time
  • Arrears, defaults and recoveries, if they happen

What we never share

  • Your bank balance or what you spend money on
  • Your payslip or supporting documents
  • Your medical, family or employment records beyond the employer name on your loan
  • Anything at all with parties who are not licensed to receive credit data

How your record affects your borrowing

Your credit record is not a punishment — for most borrowers it is what gets them a better loan, faster.

1
You apply for a loan

With your consent, we ask DCC what you already owe to other lenders and how you have been repaying them.

2
We check the loan actually fits

The point is to make sure the repayment fits your income once everything you already repay elsewhere is counted. A loan you cannot service helps nobody.

3
You repay, and it is recorded

Every repayment you make builds your record. A clean history is the single best thing you can hold when you next need credit.

4
If you fall behind

Arrears and defaults are reported. A default can stay on your record and make borrowing harder or more expensive — which is exactly why it is worth talking to us early.

If you are struggling with a repayment, contact us before the due date. There are options available before a default is recorded that disappear afterwards.
